Why We Replaced the Traditional Audit With Something Better

We built a reputation off the back of Klaviyo audits.

Our founder and CEO personally ran dozens of them, often outperforming the field and winning pitches despite some pretty big hurdles and stiff competition. In 2024 alone, he only lost two audits. One went to a brand that needed someone in their LA time zone (they circled back). The other was a public company with a $20B+ market cap looking for a full-service agency. We specialize in retention and would rather focus on getting that 100% right.

The feedback we received was consistent:

“Wow, this blew away every other audit.”

“This was incredibly insightful.”

“You went way deeper than I expected.”

“I’m still in due diligence, but… I feel really good about working together.”

And before long, other agencies took notice. European shops started asking to learn our method, and we could’ve doubled down.

But we didn’t.

Instead, we decided to kill the audit.

Because even though our version was best-in-class, we realized the model was broken and we could do better.

The Problem With Traditional Klaviyo Audits

Most Klaviyo audits are glorified checklists dressed up as strategy.

“You’re missing a flow.”

“Your segmentation could be better.”

“Here’s a list of stuff we found.”

They might look helpful, but they rarely lead to action. And the truth is, audits built in a vacuum.

Our audits were deeper. Revenue-based. Brutally honest. Mapped to real customer journeys. But even those had a fatal flaw. They told you what was wrong, but didn’t help you move. They pointed out 37 problems, but didn’t help you prioritize them or map out the action you should take.

So when a client signed on, we’d end up tossing the audit, redoing the strategy, and starting again. It was wasteful, slow, and disconnected from what actually mattered.
